Help a child growing up in San Francisco Public Housing to have a special Christmas and healthy, loving supports at home, in the community and at school all year long.

At Healthy Generations Project we believe children in public housing should have an equal chance to enjoy better health, improve cognitive functioning and learn emotional skills that will extend to their own children into the next generation. HGP builds resilience to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in the individual and community through social support, health literacy and role modeling.

Resiliency for children is built when they have a caring and reliable adult in their lives to turn to. Peer leaders from the community help children get to school, provide free meals in a family centered environment, read to the kids, play educational games and are there for them when they need help of any kid. Our peer leaders, called Community Health Leaders also support parents and our curriculum provides parenting skills training in nutrition, educational play, non toxic environments, non-violent communications (no spanking) and how to put education first in the home. These cornerstones of good health and educational readiness focuses the community on creating a child-centered and child-friendly environment.

$25 – Buy a child a Holiday gift from Healthy Generations Project.

$50 – One month of incentives for Walking School Bus Students.

$100 – Provides supplies for Parent and Child bonding activities and art supplies for 3 months.   

$250 – Dinner for 25 program participants at one of our weekly Parent Child Activities. 

$500 – Ensures 20 children are walked to school by a caring adult for 1 week.
